This new qualification was launched at the beginning of the academic year as a result of the collaboration between three Universities, eight media and the Public Institution of the Basque Language (read our article here). After diagnosing the situation of the Basque language in the media of the Northern Basque Country, the process was launched, the design of the degree was developed, an agreement was made between the stakeholders and 12 students started their classes in September 2023, in Bayonne. The agreement includes the universities IJBA-UBM of Bordeaux, UPPA of Pau and UPV/EHU of the Basque Autonomous Community and these media: Euskal Irratiak, Herria, Kanaldude, France 3, France Bleu, EITB, Mediabask, Ipar Euskal Herriko Hitza. As part of the course, they spent a week in Bilbao and did some practical work and visits to different media and institutions. They also had the opportunity to get to know our facility firsthand and we informed them about our work and the projects we have in hand.
