The BEHA research line of the Basque Media Observatory starts with the publication of the resolution of the call for projects 2021 “Citizenship of the Euroregion”: “Cross-border proposal for the knowledge of the Basque audience: exercise to update the digital measurement of the communication space in Basque”.
The BEHA project seeks to evaluate and update the digital media audience measurement system in Basque. There are new measurement equipment on the market (such as Google Analytics 4) and new measurement rules (changes in cookie tracking will rewrite the game rules). This change is intended to train the Basque media. In the first phase of the project, eight communication projects (sample selected for its character, type and geographical extension, representativeness, balance and cross-border) will be carried out: Berria (national, general information), Hamaika TB (national, television), Kanaldude (Ipar Euskal Herria, television), Euskalerria irratia (Navarra, radio), Elhuyar (theme, science), Gaztezulo (thematic, juvenile), Anboto (local, Bizkaia) and Alea (local, Araba).
The BEHA project will be channelled through the Euroregion Citizenship project. The call, created in 2015 with the objective of promoting cooperation between the actors of New Aquitaine, Navarra and the Basque Country, focuses on the departments of culture, education, youth, sport and multilingualism. This year 49 applications have been submitted and 22 projects have been selected, including BEHA.
